Boo! Gotcha! Now you’re ready to play Midnight Ghost Hunt, the chaotic 4v4 multiplayer battle between the living and the dead, which is free this week on the Epic Games Store.
Each team has different tricks. The hunters play in first-person, using technology to hunt down the fleeing ghosts throughout the levels. Ghosts can see more of the map in third-person view, and they can possess various objects, hide in open spaces, and wait for midnight when the hunters become the hunted.
Ghosts have time at the beginning to explore the levels and find hiding spots, while the hunters gather their equipment (salt-filled shotguns, homemade tools to track and trap ghosts). And then it’s time…
As a hunter, distinguishing ghosts from other objects is just the beginning of the silly battle against the environment and your own paranoia. Objects are scattered throughout the levels, and ghosts can hide in anything from toilets to giant disco balls. You track them using sonar and radar, or you can hit random objects to see if there’s a ghost inside. The best part of object hunting is when the toilet runs away when you get too close.
Desperate ghosts try to stay undead. Hiding in objects or using telekinesis to attack and bombard humans around them are just sneaky tactics to avoid being sucked up before midnight. If only one ghost survives, the whole team will respawn and transform into ferocious threats and howl back at the hunters.
